Antabuse (disulfiram) interferes with the metabolism of alcohol resulting in unpleasant
effects when alcohol is consumed - such as flushing of the face, mental confusion,
breathing difficulty, nausea, anxiety, chest pain, vomiting, sweating, choking,

to a person who in a state of alcoholic intoxication. Antabuse comes in tablets

The tablets can be dilute with some kind of drink - water, coffee, juice or milk.
Do not drink alcohol at least 12 hours after taking Antabuse. Flushing, fast heartbeats,
nausea, thirst, chest pain, vertigo, and low blood pressure may occur when alcohol
is ingested during Antabuse therapy. However, you need to be aware of the fact the
effects of Antabuse can be felt during up to 2 weeks after you have stopped the
treatment. Try to avoid drinking alcohol during this period.

metronidazole, warfarin, phenytoin, isoniazid, nonprescription drugs that might
